What is Horizon 2020
Horizon 2020 is the financial instrument implementing the Innovation Union, a Europe 2020 flagship initiative aimed at securing Europe’s global competitiveness.
The goal is to ensure Europe produces world-class science, removes barriers to innovation and makes it easier for the public and private sectors to work together in delivering innovation.
The European Commission tool dedicated to SMEs to accelerate the process of introducing promising innovations onto the market:
12 – 24 months duration;
from € 500,000 to € 2.5 million public grant;
70% of eligible costs;
time to grant 3 – 5 months.

up to € 15 million;
commercialization phase (TRL 9);
time to grant 6 – 7 months.
The European Commission supports the project through its own network of contacts and through coaching, knowledge sharing, dissemination and training activities.
